Route 90% off-road very hilly, starting from Ranco and reaching the banks of the Ticino River after about 25 km.
After crossing the bridge over the second river lock, turn right and climb up the Piedmontese bank to Castelletto Ticino in a beautiful landscape rich in aquatic fauna.
From Castelletto Ticino one travels a short stretch of asphalt road to Sesto Calende, the only difficulty being the climb from Sesto Calende to the Bilesa farmstead where for about 500 meters the gradient exceeds 15%. From there on the route to Ranco I would say takes on much more pleasant aspects.
