The Belvedere opened its doors on March 28, 1865 as the “Osteria sale e tabacco” on the shores of Lake Maggiore, thanks to four-grandfather Ignazio Merzagora, who made his house the Belvedere. Since then, our family has carried on this tradition, passionately welcoming guests who, over the years, have transformed the Belvedere into a place of shared history and memories.

Not just one family, but many others, who from generation to generation have chosen the Belvedere as a landmark for special moments. Our legacy is enriched by stories of encounters, celebrations and discoveries that have found their home here at the Belvedere.

In 1937 the tavern was transformed into a restaurant appreciated for its cuisine that combines tradition and innovation. Today the Belvedere is an elegant hotel with a swimming pool and wellness area, where history and comfort come together in a warm, family atmosphere.

The rooftop terrace offers unparalleled views of the lake, while the kitchen celebrates local flavors with fresh, seasonal ingredients, offering a dining experience that enhances the beauty of the area.
